Welcome Back, students and families!
We are excited and ready to begin the 2018-2019 school year. We hope that everyone had a wonderful, relaxing, rejuvenating summer. As for the Easton Public Schools, we have been planning, hiring, training, moving, painting, cleaning, repairing, and more as we have prepared for your return! While many things remain the same from year to year, a new school year always brings with it unknown challenges, exciting possibilities, and untapped potential. There are many mixed emotions that come with a new season, a new classroom and classmates, or maybe even a new school. We are confident; however, that each member of the community will feel welcomed and exhilarated as they begin this part of their journey.
In the next few weeks, you will surely be overwhelmed with information, paperwork, and dates to remember. You will have questions, but we can provide the answers. Please reach out to your school’s office staff, teacher, or administrator if we can help you navigate what may be new to you. We are, after all, all on the same team with the same goals for our children and their future. In fact, we begin this school year with a new Vision for EPS:
“The vision of the Easton Public Schools is to provide a relevant, rigorous learning experience in a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment which empowers students and educators to embrace curiosity, think critically, develop positive relationships, and exhibit resilience.”
This statement is a declaration of our commitment to the children of Easton. Please help us to breathe life into these words for our students and educators. We will soon share our district Core Values and the remainder of the 2018-2022 Strategic Plan which will be presented to the School Committee and the community in the fall. This work will help to guide our direction, resources, and goals going forward.
Our wish is for fresh starts, ambitious goals, and tremendous gains for every child. Together, we can support our children to attain all that they dream for themselves...and even more that they may have never thought possible.
Thank you for your continued support of our wonderful school system. We look forward to our continued work together as a community of learners and problem-solvers. Best wishes for an amazing school year!
